from Team Mongolian Job See the gallery from the Panda's first proper road trip - down at Longleat, here. There's also a news item we posted about the trip. See the fabulous white team 4x4 test run gallery. This was done in Rhyader Forest, Wales. General info and interest The official Mongol Rally website offers a realistic overview of the 2005 event. The site also offers pictures from the trial run in 2004, where just 6 cars set out to Mongolia. 4 of them made it. The How Stuff Works website is of great help to us, given our combined 'zero knowledge' about car engines and maintenance. What point is there in buying a clapped out old Fiat Panda if we're not prepared to discuss its finer merits on a Fiat enthusiasts forum. When we keep asking ourselves 'Why are we doing this?', the Send a Cow website provides the answer. Fellow competitors There's other fools around and about competing in the same event this summer. Here are some of their websites: Marvin does Mongolia: for tales of the plight of a lowly 2CV and its owners. The Vantastics: for the progress of a Bedford Rascal and its intrepid owners. Team Reliant: possibly the most amusing thing I have ever seen. The Mongol Mini: they're deciding between a cool looking mini with a union jack on the roof, or one of those yukky brown clubmans. Team Plane Broke: whoever said Talbot Sambas were dead. This one will be by the end of July! Team Panda: a team consisting of Pandas. Team Mongolian Job (Blue): they live here with us. Look out for their news soon. Team Saints and Scholars: The tale of an Irishman exiled to Milan, coming back to London ready for the drvie to Mongolia?! Team Buzzwagon: They used to have a nice flash intro to their site.
